10 – Fabrikbooks: The Artists as Publishers/The Danish Reading Room

17 June 2022 –17 July 2022

Independent publisher Fabrikbooks was founded in 2015 by the distinguished Danish artists Trine Søndergaard and Nicolai Howalt, to present their artistic work within the book format. By doing so they gained self-control of the whole process of creating their books – from conceptualization and production to distribution. And with success. Howalt’s ‘Old Tjikko’ has won numerous awards, including ‘Best Danish Book’. And Søndergaard’s ‘Stasis’, with a foreword by Mieke Bal, won a “Schönsten Büch” prize in Germany. This exhibition, designed by Hans Gremmen and produced by John Simons, will display the complete collection of books created by Søndergaard and Howalt including limited special editions and out-of-print books. The artist/publishers will be present for a Q & A.

Concurrently, Enter Enter will present ‘The Danish Reading Room’, a selection of recent Danish art and design titles from independent publishers, museums and art-spaces, many of which have received little or no international distribution.
The exhibition is produced  John Simons and Søren Lilholt.
